The short version

I am a clean energy project developer by trade, and I have been photographing for rather longer than that has been true.

It started with my mother’s Agfa in 1975 and a Zenit TTL two years later — that story is here. Then came a forty-year detour: the State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Victoria’s energy regulator, and twenty-two years at a multilateral development bank. The camera came along the whole way. Most of what is on this site was made in the gaps around that work.

The portrait work is more recent and more deliberate. Sydney and Manila, mostly collaborative, mostly with people who wanted the frames as much as I did.

There are 2880 photographs here across 113 collections and sixteen of the thirty-odd countries I have travelled. Peru is next. There is a great deal more still on hard drives.
